Psychotherapy is a collaborative process between a trained mental health professional and an individual seeking to address emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges. Its primary goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This leads to a better understanding of their issues and fosters personal growth.

Therapy and coaching both aim to support personal growth but differ significantly in approach, focus, and goals.
Therapy is a mental health service provided by licensed professionals trained to diagnose and treat emotional and psychological issues. It often addresses past traumas, mental health disorders, and emotional difficulties. Therapy provides a safe, supportive environment to explore deep-seated issues, process trauma, and develop coping strategies. The focus is on healing and improving mental well-being.
Coaching is generally more forward-focused and goal-oriented, aimed at personal or professional development. Coaches help clients set and achieve specific objectives, enhance performance, and build skills. Coaching assumes the client is mentally healthy and ready to take action, rather than needing treatment for psychological conditions.
Simply put, therapy is best suited for healing and mental health support, while coaching is ideal for motivation, accountability, and reaching future goals. Both can be empowering, but therapy delves into emotional healing, and coaching emphasizes growth and achievement.

Yes, we do accept insurance. Please be aware that health insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis for coverage of services. However, not everyone seeking therapy meets this criterion. Many clients choose to pay out of pocket to maintain greater confidentiality and have more control over their therapeutic experience.
We accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and HBCBS. We DO NOT accept Medicaid or Medicare.
